AFRICAN UNION OFFICE FOR THE AFRICAN PEER REVIEW MECHANISM (APRM)
The African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), which is an African Union Office located in Midrand, South Africa, is seeking qualified African nationals to fill the following position:
Coordinator – Country Review process (Francophone)
Main Responsibilities and Duties
Under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer of the African Union for the APRM, the Coordinator - Country Review Process is responsible for:
• the entire process of the country review in participating countries, including, (i) initiating and coordinating technical support in preparation for their reviews,(ii) coordinating the preparation of issues papers on the countries to be reviewed, (iii) selecting and organizing the Country Review Teams, and supporting the Lead Panel Member in conducting the country reviews;
• Providing the necessary support to the Lead Panel Member in the preparation of Country Reports;
• The follow –up to the review including the implementation of countries’ National Programmes of Actions (NPOAs); and
• Organizing experience sharing seminars and workshops.
Key qualifications
• Hold an advanced University Degree on subjects covering at least one of the four APRM thematic areas or related subjects;
• Have at least 10 years experience in dealing with African development issues;
• Be familiar with the Constitutive Act of the African Union and the objectives of the APRM;
• Have proven leadership and experience in interacting with country and international officials;
• Demonstrate the ability to interact with people with various expertise and organise their inputs,
• Have excellent drafting ability in English or French, with working knowledge of the other as an added advantage; and
• Have a full knowledge of computer systems, including internet navigation and major Microsoft Office applications.

The AU Office for APRM offers same conditions as for comparable levels at the African Union in South Africa, with immunities and privileges provided for in the Host Country Agreement.
